Boda Baas illuminated To
better disperse light within the sculpture's form, I molded and cast
a drumstick-shaped wax volume. This wax shape reflected the outside
of the sculpture itself with a small knob where the head is located.
During the final casting this wax hollow was sunk into the centre of
the mold while the resin was poured around it. Heat given off by the
catalyzation of the resin actually melted the wax hollow. I was able
to pour the wax out as the resin hardened, leaving the centre hollowed
as planned. This picture is a collague of the best elements from eight
digital images, taken at different exposures. Ask
