The
graceful and serene quality of Rebecca
Guay's illustration speaks to me. I was surprised to meet
her in person at the Milwaukee
Gen Con 2002, and pleased to encounter her again the following
year at Gen Con 2003,
(in the convention's new home of Indianapolis.) This year Rebecca
was the first familiar face I sought out, a starting point if you
will. I gave Rebecca the set of tattoos I had recently designed for
my costuming community, the 501st
Legion. The next day Rebecca informed me that her young daughter,
Vivian I believe, had found the tattoos in her mother's purse
and had proceeded to cover her arms with them while her parents slept.
I am glad the tattoos went to good use.

It
is funny what some people find to be "classic."
