I began sculpting just the upper chest armour of the Imperial Knight in hopes to have this one piece to wear for a photo shoot I had scheduled at Dragon*Con 2006 with photographer Art Andrews. My intention was to create the illusion of a complete costume for the personal portrait on the back of my Legion trading card. To speed the process along I sculpted over a manikin. Even so, I fell short of my deadline. When I returned I from Dragon*Con I found that the clay had slid off the manikin in my absence. Still intact, I tried the clay sculpt on my own body and realized this truth; the human body has little in common with the proportions of a commercial manikin. I was happy for this early warning and endeavoured to start my project a new.
