5th of May, 2002, Indianapolis. Awarded Master -- 1st place -- in Hero category and Best of show in the Star Wars Celebration II costume contest. Dan Hyatt, the man in the Wampa, suit stands on painter's stilts. The intimidating height of his creation and the detailing of his accessories -- his detachable arms and Hoth Luke -- cast a striking stage presence. Dan also contestant recreated a fine Zam Wessel costume which was also entered in the contest, modeled by a lady friend. The day before he wore his equally impressive Chewbaca suit and stilts. In all, I have understand Dan to have made eleven such detailed Star Wars costumes. Dedication? Obsession? Whichever it may be, it is admirable to me. You
