Margarita had beautiful eyes. Electric eyes that still light up in my memory.

When Margarita first presented me with this piece wrapped in lace, I was shocked. At 3 1/2" her puzzle portrait towers over the other relatively flat entries. I had difficulty seeing just how this unusual piece would relate to the project. Now, a decade later, I have no such concerns.

Infact, the greatest remaining challenge to this piece was how to represent its nonstandard format in this gallery. I used macro filters on a 35 mm camera to take extreme close up images of Margarita's portrait. I then composited the different focuses of the same view to produce the top view used in this gallery.
