Hi
Thomas: I almost forgot to send you the concept behind my puzzle piece.
Here it is;
1. The piece as a whole is shaped in the symbol of woman and fertility.
2. The overall feel of the piece is Afrocentric in design because I am
an African-American woman.
3. The puzzle piece itself is bound in the center to represent my "chi"
which is bound in the center of me and burning with all the things that
are me. Thus, the purpose of having the puzzle piece painted as a burning
flame. The piece is off-centered to represent my imperfections.
4. The beans (Great Northern Beans) represent food as food is always a
form of connection and celebration for all cultures, usually representing
all major events in family and life.
5. The gold coloring represents my belief
that my life (and everyone's) is precious as a precious metal; gold.
6. The black, glass marbles are purely decoration.
If I had to title the piece, I would call it, "The Meaning of Me".
Thanks
again for the opportunity to share in your artistic vision.
